Many commercial hair products leave behind silicone and synthetic coatings that build up on the scalp and hair over time. Root Reset works with a simple apple cider vinegar rinse to help loosen that buildup so your hair can return to its natural balance.

Used occasionally, it prepares the scalp and hair for traditional soap cleansing with Tallowed Ground™ Root Revival Shampoo & Body Bar.

What It Is

Root Reset is a dry mineral scalp cleanse made from simple earth-derived ingredients and powdered herbs traditionally associated with hair care.

When combined with a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse, it helps lift buildup from the scalp and hair so traditional soap bars can perform as intended.

Although Root Reset contains no tallow itself, it is included in the Tallowed Ground™ line because it supports the use of our Tallowed Ground™ Root Revival Shampoo & Body Bar.

The Formula

Diatomaceous Earth
A naturally occurring mineral powder rich in silica that helps gently loosen buildup from the scalp.

Arrowroot Powder
A gentle botanical powder that helps absorb excess oils while improving the texture of the blend, allowing it to spread easily through the hair and rinse cleanly.

Bentonite Clay
A traditional cleansing clay known for its ability to bind to residues and help remove impurities.

Ground Rosemary Leaf
Traditionally associated with scalp vitality and healthy hair.

Ground Peppermint Leaf
Adds a refreshing botanical element for the scalp.

What It Does

How to Use

Before shampooing, mix 1-2 tablespoons of Root Reset Clarifying Scalp Cleanse & Transition Treatment with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and combine well with a fork.  After it stops foaming, add enough hot water to make a warm, thick paste.

Massage gently into wet scalp and hair, focusing on the scalp and roots and distributing evenly through the hair for 2 minutes.  This is manually removing the artificial commercial shampoo buildup. Rinse very well.

Follow with Tallowed Ground™ Root Revival Shampoo & Body Bar

Many people also choose to do the apple cider vinegar rinse on its own after shampooing, as a simple conditioning rinse. Mix 1–2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar with 1-2 cups of warm water and pour slowly over the scalp. Allow it to sit for 30–60 seconds, then rinse thoroughly.

Only mix the amount of Root Reset Clarifying Scalp Cleanse & Transition Treatment needed for a single rinse. Keeping the vinegar separate allows the dry blend to remain stable without preservatives. Do not inhale the powder. 

Use once weekly during the transition period, then occasionally as needed.
